The other morning I got to experience my first earthquake. While brushing my teeth I could hear rattling in the house, I didn't think much of it at the moment because I was concentrating on brushing my teeth (so Uncle Rex, if your reading this you would be proud (: p.s Rex is my dentist). Then Peg called out to us, "Girls that was an earthquake". My first thought was, is she kidding, but no, the frames of pictures shook and the door was rattling, I just didn't realize because I was brushing my teeth. Later after Peg did some research on the Tormento, she found that it damaged a road to San Fransisco, where Emily and I just happened to be the week before.
I have found that one of my favorite days here is Sunday. Last Sunday, Emily and I went to help Diogenes in the area where he lives. He lives in a rough area of town where a lot of drug abuse occurs. We told the story of the prodigal son, and we have even learned a few songs in Spanish that we can sing with the kids. After the Bible school for children, Dio walked us back the apartment. On the way he shared with us that two mothers had come up to him and asked to go to the English church with him because they really want to know Jesus. God used Dio and his children's program to change hearts in this area and it is so exciting to see :) When we returned to the apartment, we helped Peg prepare for lunch for a little while. We have about 25 people over for lunch on Sundays, but this week it was 30 people. Once people start showing up, we will often play games on the play station. What I have found is that no matter what country you are in the boys always flock to the sports games, but with a little help from my Dominican sister Luz we got some Just Dance started which was fun. After lunch I got to teach the intermediate English class while Emily assisted with the beginner class. On Sunday, I thought my lesson went very well and I hope one of my 17 students learned something. Despues de la English class we had the evening service at the English church. I have found that one of my favorite things while I have been here is when we have Haitian music. It is a mixture of so many different things, and it really is amazing. Last Sunday Emily played her flute for the service. I think that a lot of people really enjoyed it, and she did an amazing job. I also got surprised by being asked to say the verse for the sermon, SUPRISE, and if you want to listen to pastor Bills sermons you can go to the (theenglishchurch.org).
This Tuesday some of our friend came early to Bible study to play Uno, after some Uno we played the games of spoons. which with our Dominican friends was really fast, and a little dangerous. They really liked that a lot, and it was super fun. I'm starting to think of all the people here like my family and I don't know how I will be able to leave (Emily really wants to stay :)
Next week we are going on a Missions trip with some really great people with Bill and Peg. We will be one mile from the Haitian Boarder, I am excited to see what God has in store for our trip, and Please pray for our team as we prepare and while we are there.

p.s Never want to Leave :)
